Finding The Kitchen Cafe is like finding a needle in a hay stack. It is tucked away in a shopping center right off of Decatur and Flamingo. We went to dinner there on Sunday around 6:30 PM and the place was totally empty. I guess this was an omen of things to come. Upon sitting down at the closest window table, I immediately noticed all the dirt consisting of bread crumbs and particles of food scattered under numerous tables. The waitress took our orders and that's when the fun began. We were brought a basket of bread which happened to be stale. 10 minutes later my wife who order veal with a wine sauce could not cut the veal with a fork it was rubbery and fatty. I never saw real fatty veal before but this was one place that seemed to specialize in it. Her side order of pasta was pathetic. The pasta was cold and the sauce on it had no taste at all. Now on to the masterpiece of Meatloaf which I had the misfortune of ordering. There is meatloaf and then there is ground beef stuffed with bread and no seasoning with no taste and that is what I got. Truly a truck stop piece of meat but with prices that are 3 times as much. The best part of this fiasco was the salad at least most restaurants can't destroy that. The bill for this nonsense came to 25.00, (what a rip-off). No wonder this place participates in the radio scam show. Save you money this place has to be in the bottom 1 per cent of restaurants in this city. Take the burger out of a McDonalds burger and you have what their meat loaf tastes like. But of course all the leeches on K-Scam will call up since they got the coupon for free by answering a trivia or some other giveaway and will give this place a fantastic review. Consumer beware, if you spend your hard earned dollar in this establishment you will be in for a big surprise!
